MATHEMATICS

Curriculum Information For Students Entering Grade 10 September 2006

 

*      A graphing calculator is required by students taking courses in Pure or Applied Mathematics. The TI 83 Plus, as recommended by Alberta Education, is the calculator of choice.

 

Math 10 Prep, a 5-credit course, is offered for those students experiencing difficulty in Grade 9 Math.  Students with a mark of 60% in Math 9 are recommended to take this course before Pure Math 10.

 

Math 31 is the most advanced high school mathematics course.  This Calculus course is either recommended or required for those students who are entering a post-secondary program in mathematics, science, engineering or business.

 

Math 14 and Math 24 concentrate on basic math skills and concepts related to daily life.  They fulfill the basic requirement for a high school diploma.
